COMPENSATION CONSULTANT (San Francisco)
Summary:
Assists senior level compensation consulting staff in providing various
client services in all areas of the compensation consulting practice.
Will support projects, supervise junior specialists, and ensure
strategic integration of compensation practices. May exhibit a
specialty in one or more areas of compensation and/or in an industry. A
combination of Consulting, Equity and Executive Compensation are very
desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts primary and secondary research and collects information.
May delegate and oversee some research activities to Associates.
Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis of data and develops
exhibits that summarize findings, and performs peer reviews on work
completed by other consultants.
Participates in the development of client deliverables (e.g.,
charts, graphs and reports). Develops recommendations and authors
portions of larger client deliverables under general supervision. Works
with other analysts. May delegate work as needed and may personally
direct/oversee portions of larger client engagements that are
semi-routine and of moderate complexity. Also, may personally
direct/oversee the entirety of smaller client engagements under general
supervision.
Regular client interfacing; accompanies senior staff on client
visits in supportive role and participates in new business meetings
with existing clients and prospects and interacts with clients via
telephone, fax and e-mail to gather information or answer questions
that are semi-routine and of moderate complexity.
Trains and provides guidance to lower-level analysts. And handles
special projects or assignments as instructed by your
supervisor/manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related
field, MBA preferred. Four (4) to seven (7) total years experience. Two
years Consulting experience.
Demonstrates broad knowledge of compensation principles and/or has
developed specialized knowledge in one or more areas of compensation
and/or an industry. Proven skills in compensation research and
analysis, spreadsheet models, report and presentation preparation,
EDGAR filings (proxy, 10-K, 8-K, S-1) directly and using Equilar.
Financial modeling of equity compensation alternatives. Excellent at
summarizing research, literature review, online searches to support
articles, presentations, product development. Assisted with development
of proprietary governance analytics model, equity effectiveness model,
and corporate transactions services.
Knowledge of executive compensation analysis including cash
compensation, equity types and alternative valuation models,
performance-based modeling, dilution analysis. Ability to use online
tools to develop peer groups.
Ability to supervise staff, work as a team and interact with all levels of management and clients
