This Senior Legal
Business Analyst will be responsible for project management and
execution of securities projects for the Securities Reporting and
Capital Markets groups within the Legal Department. Managing the
process for preparation of Fannie Mae's periodic SEC reports and other
required SEC filings and coordinating with other groups throughout the
company are key elements of the job. Managing the maintenance and
updating of policies and procedures for each group and monitoring for
compliance also are important aspects of the job. The Senior Legal
Business Analyst also will work with broker-dealers and Fannie Mae
business units on debt and derivatives documentation and tracking
systems. The ability to accomplish outlined goals with nominal
supervision and usually only final attorney sign-off will be vital.
   
* Must have desire to become familiar with Fannie Mae and its various
organization divisions and its business as well as the environment in
which it operates (legal, regulatory and business)
    * Possesses
strong organizational and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability
to create and implement practical solutions
    * Develops
relationships with relevant business units to facilitate project
management and establish reliable sources of information for future
reporting needs
    * Possesses high-level proficiency in preparing
meeting records and minutes, and in developing, tracking and driving to
conclusion multiple action items with disparate business owners
   
* Creates, maintains and communicates about multiple calendars
affecting groups throughout the company, the Board of Directors and two
Board committees
    * Responsible for Disclosure Committee coordination, scheduling, reporting and records management
    * Serves as point of contact for process relating to periodic reports, proxy statement and annual report to shareholders
    * Correlates varied data, draws accurate conclusions, communicates results of analysis, and makes recommendations as needed
   
* Coordinates with financial printers in connection with logistics and
budget for preparation and distribution of SEC reports, proxy statement
and annual report to shareholders
    * Prepares back-up materials for SEC reports and proxy materials
   
* Coordinates with Capital Markets employees, Fannie Mae securities
dealers and swap counterparties to ensure legal documentation
accurately reflects trade terms
    * Organizes and tracks securities and swap documentation
   
* Works with key stakeholders in the various functional areas to
document and identify current processes and issues and make
recommendations for improvements
    * Manages/shares responsibility
for managing the Securities Reporting group's records management and
shared drive, and maintains policies and procedures for Securities
Reporting group




Skills:

* Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred
   
* Demonstrated legal assistant or project management experience working
in a law firm, in-house corporation or government agency (5-7 years
preferred)
    * Demonstrated track record in developing/executing
project plans involving cross functional stakeholders and strict time
constraints
    * Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability
to interact and work effectively with individuals at all levels of the
corporation and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
    * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
   
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated
ability to communicate issues and recommendations persuasively and
effectively to key stakeholders
    * Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    * Interest in securities reporting and financial markets preferred
