JOB BOARD: Equity & Payroll Manager, Redwood City, CA

Manager role reporting to the Assistant Controller with overall responsibility for the administration of the stock plan, employee stock option plan and grant processing. A CEP (certified equity professional) qualification would be a plus as would experience with Transcentive stock administrative software. You will also be responsible for the preparation of month-end payroll and equity related journal entries and account reconciliations using ADP Payroll, so knowledge of this would also be helpful, but is not required.

Equity and Payroll Manager

- Administer stock plan, employee stock option plan and grant processing, including due diligence for new territories prior to granting participation in stock plans;

- Manage and guarantee semi-monthly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws;

- Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely;

- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, equity and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations;

- Ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, stock options, benefits, sick and vacation time;

- Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.);

- Distribute Stock Plan communication materials

- Administer stock database

- Work with outside brokers/service providers

- Respond to employee questions on stock options on a global basis

- Prepare month-end payroll and equity related journal entries
