Senior Manager / Solicitor 5yrs+ pqe - Share Schemes. Remuneration according to experience + profit share + benefits
The Role
A senior manager / solicitor with 5 years pqe is sought to join the RM2 share schemes consultancy team. The team is involved in the creation of tax efficient and commercially focussed incentivisation structures for all business types (from large listed corporates to owner managed entrepreneurial start-ups and private equity backed businesses) and related consultancy services. A rapidly growing client base now provides a great opportunity for a talented advisor to join the team during a period of exciting development for the practice.
Strong project management skills are essential to ensure that complex solutions are delivered on budget and on a timely basis and strong communication skills are required to build rapport with clients and referral partners.
Main Responsibilities
Service delivery and development
• demonstrates an understanding of the full range of the firm's products, services and capabilities and takes an active role in lead generation
• builds an understanding of the potential for selling additional services to clients
• seeks to participate in business development activities and contributes to sales pitches
Clients
• builds a rapport with the individual client and develops a clear and detailed understanding of the business and client expectations • meets clients demands, keeping them up to date with progress and engenders trust and respect
• deals with a wide range of technical issues and client situations • provides intelligent and creative solutions to client tax issues both reactively and proactively • writes high quality tax reports, professionally presented documents, requiring minimal input from directors
Implementation
• responsible for planning and performing consultancy assignments in respect of incentive arrangements • preparation of all plan documentation and associated documentation on behalf of our clients • acts as a first point of contact on specific projects for any queries from the business • demonstrates the ability to analyse potential solutions and make recommendations accordingly • accurately interprets advice obtained from other specialists and questions where required • presents solutions to increasingly complex technical issues • demonstrates an awareness of technical risk through well supported research
Client take- on / risk management
• has a sound awareness and adherence to the firm's risk management processes and procedures
• ensures compliance with internal procedures including the completion of take-on
• ensures bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis • mitigates risk through review and involvement of senior people
Technical Competence
• demonstrates sufficient technical knowledge to supervise relevant areas of work
• seen as a reference point on particular technical issues
• areas of expertise include both HMRC approved tax efficient structures and non-approved incentive schemes
People
• works effectively with all members of the team, building the confidence and respect of peers and subordinates • appraises and mentors associates giving regular feedback, timely appraisals and provides development opportunities
• manages a team of both internal staff and external advisors on specific projects
• provide on the job training to associates
• actively seek opportunities to attend training courses to develop technical and personal skills • demonstrates a clear appetite for self-development through the appraisal and personal development plan processes. Reviews work afterwards for learning points
Operations and results
• ensures bills are raised and costs are collected on a timely basis • manages work in progress to ensure recoverability targets can be met • monitors invoices raised and cash collected in a timely manner to ensure aged debtors do not escalate • meets or exceeds client delivery timescales
Education and Qualifications Essential
CTA or qualified solicitor with current practicing certificate
Experience Essential
• Sound technical knowledge
• Strong drafting skills

• Client facing skills • Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills Desirable
• Related tax consultancy experience
• Managerial skills
• Financial modelling / share valuation / company secretarial experience
