E*TRADE FINANCIAL Corporate Services is seeking a professional experienced in product development and architecture to fill the role of Product Architect in its Product Management team. This individual will be responsible for defining and documenting requirements for a variety of equity plan-related products and services used by our corporate clients and their plan participants. The position will primarily be focused on accounting, tax and reporting projects that impact our equity plan-related products and services. Additionally, this person will work with cross-functional teams to define and manage initiatives that involve enhancements to the Corporate Services product offering, including projects and programs aimed at enhancing revenue, gaining competitive advantages, reducing costs, insuring regulatory/statutory compliance, and/or improving service. This job entails end-to-end responsibility for the product development lifecycle for individual projects, from translating business requirements delivered by the Product Planners into detailed functional requirements, to independently working with the technology and quality assurance teams on design, implementation and testing, to handoff to the Product Support team for internal and customer rollout.  This position will also support the Product Support team as a subject matter expert for product maintenance and production issue escalation.


 This role requires a combination of strategic and tactical problem solving, coupled with strong execution capability. The successful candidate will be an experienced self-starter and have excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of achieving success in a fast-paced, results-driven organization.


Position Objectives



  • Demonstrate strong product development functional knowledge, including an in-depth understanding of the processes, tools and techniques essential to delivering projects on-time and within budget

  • Help drive product development strategy for equity compensation product features related to accounting, tax or reporting

  • Acquire intimate domain knowledge of existing Corporate Services products and services, becoming a subject matter expert with respect to current and anticipated functionality, workflows and integration points with other E*TRADE systems

  • Identify and analyze functional deficiencies in our current reporting feature product offering, and recommend corrective actions

  • Translate analysis into functional requirements documentation for existing and future Corporate Services applications.

  • Partner closely with a wide range of stakeholders - including Product Planning, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Technology and Quality Assurance - to ensure that product design and implementation accurately reflect the full range of market, business and functional requirements

  • Use judgment and analysis to help prioritize areas for product enhancement

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to junior team members and support the Finance Segment Leader with day-to-day team and project management tasks


 


Qualifications


Minimum/Required



  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience and success in business analysis, including writing detailed requirements documentation

  • Knowledge of software design and protocols, including Windows software and web site interface standards, including client-server and web technologies

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or equivalent

  • Strong ability to plan and manage multiple projects in parallel

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills with peers, clients and leadership

  • Combination of strong analytical and documentation skills, ability to think strategically, and deep client focus; highly quality minded

  • Capability to understand and document accounting and/or tax guidance

  • Effective team collaboration and influencing skills

  • Assume meeting leadership in on-site, in-person and over-the-phone remote meetings

  • Solid understanding of product development life-cycle

  • Ability to work effectively within a team of product architects and cross-functionally with multiple business and technology stakeholders

  • Proven success in developing innovative solutions to business problems including initiating action and managing projects through the full development life cycle


Preferred



  • Equity compensation experience is a plus

  • Accounting experience regarding ASC 718 (FAS 123R) or IFRS 2 is a plus

  • Knowledge of Oracle databases/reporting database design theory

  • Equity plan management and corporate services experience

  • CEPI certification or willingness to achieve level 1 CEP designation (minimum) within the first year of full-time employment

  • Knowledge of how to apply visualization techniques to requirements drafting; prior experience with iRise is a definite plus
