The Total Rewards Center of Excellence currently has an Equity Compensation Consultant position open in either Palo Alto, CA or Ft. Collins, CO (or possibly elsewhere within the U.S.) that reports directly to the head of Equity Compensation. Qualified candidates must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of global equity compensation, including equity award and ESPP program design and strategy, benchmarking and compensation committee governance and support. Additionally, the candidate must have a strong understanding of the tax, legal and accounting implications of equity compensation. A successful candidate will have a strong customer/client service orientation, excellent communication skills and be very proficient at Excel and PowerPoint.

Job Description:

The role's main objective is to develop and deliver equity programs that will touch significant portions of HP's employee population.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:


Applies total rewards subject matter expertise in multiple areas of specialization to design and develop equity programs of the highest complexity.
Identifies areas for improvement to equity strategies and contributes to development of total rewards strategy.
Communicates with partners and senior managers to deliver guidance and desired results for equity programs.
Manages equity projects that impact employees in multiple countries, regions, or businesses.
Accountable for impact analysis of equity initiatives and the financial and legal outcomes of programs.
May manage equity delivery, including partnering with vendors and selecting providers.
May contribute to the integration strategy for Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Outsourcing (MADO) transactions.
Leads multiple equity programs simultaneously.
Develops relationships with equity professionals and/or organizations in order to maintain current market trends knowledge for internal use.


 


Qualifications
Education Required:


First-level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.
Typically 10+ years related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, and/or human resources.


Knowledge and Skills Required:


Strong customer/client service orientation.
Excellent at Excel and strong at PowerPoint.
Adept at strategic thinking, while also having great attention to detail.
Complete systematic understanding of total rewards systems, as well as other Human Resource (HR) functions, including Executive Compensation.
Advanced knowledge of the tax, legal and accounting aspects of employee equity compensation, including emerging legislation.
Previous experience with performance-based equity, restricted stock, stock options and ESPPs.
Superior communication, leadership, consulting, influence, and negotiation skills.
Exceptional financial and business acumen.
Some experience interacting with senior leaders preferred.
Excellent project management, problem solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to execute a project within the scope of overall strategies.
Able to work on multiple projects.
Certified Equity Professional (CEP) or other relevant designation(s) preferred.
