Job Description
The equity compensation consultant/CPA will be a key member of SEC’s
Consultant Pool (SECCP) for the Administration, Management, Reporting,
Planning and Analysis of our client’s global equity plans. Members of
the SECCP are expected to serve as a resource and take a leadership role
within SEC’s client base to provide advisory level service in all
aspects of equity administration and management activities for the
corporation.
Knowledge/Skills
1. Strong analytical and independent problem solving skills required
to evaluate financial results and projections.
2. Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to
present relevant information to senior management and business unit
officers.
3. Strong personal computer skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are
required to perform analyses and communicate financial information to
various constituents.
4. Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial
analysis usually acquired through related work experience in
increasingly complex roles is required.
5. Strong interpersonal and partnering skills to develop working
relationships with partners across operating business units and support
functions.
6. Demonstrated ability to drive change and improve processes.
Major Duties
1. Assist corporate finance and accounting staff with standard
accounting entries related to stock option expensing.
2. Advise on establishing or improving internal controls to assure
proper compliance with FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
3. Guidance on auditors’ expectations for the audit of stock-based
compensation during the quarter end audit and year-end audit or
financials and back-up documentation.
4. Research and cite regulations related to accounting for equity
compensation.
5. Guidance on financial statements and appropriate presentation of
the stock-based compensation line items on income statement and balance
sheet.
6. Guidance on EPS calculations relating to the diluted effect of
stock-based compensation.
7. Assist finance and accounting teams on the journal entries related
to warrants (issued for financing).
8. Lead the analysis for and production of monthly/quarterly/annual
presentation of results to the Executive Staff/BOD.
9. Participate in the monthly/quarterly forecast process.
Experience & Job Requirements:
• CPA License
• Bachelor in Finance or Accounting
• 6+ years experience in active Equity Administration and
Compensation
• Professional attitude & high level of ethics
• Willingness to learn and share your knowledge
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a professional environment with all levels of
people
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Multi-level project & tasks management skills
• Able to work independently
• Strong client relationship, technical and communication skills
• Experience as a consultant is preferred
• Available for occasional travel and/or flexible schedule
The compensation will be commensurate with experience.
