Position Summary LECG’s Director of Compensation and
Benefits will be responsible for leading and managing the global compensation
and benefits programs for the firm. This role ensures that the global
compensation and benefits programs are designed to support the firm’s strategic
objectives, comply with legal requirements and are competitive and
cost-effective. The successful candidate will be a proven leader who combines
well-developed business acumen with his/her experience as a compensation
manager who has defined and supported significant business growth strategies.
He/she will be “hands-on” in the development and successful implementation of
compensation processes in a fairly complex environment. Reporting to the Chief
Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and partnering with business leaders across the
company, the Director of Compensation and Benefits will also work to align
reward systems with business goals, enhance the firm’s ability to attract,
retain and reward high performing employees and drive programs, policies and
training that improves the relationship of rewards to performance management.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities Overall
*
Provide leadership to the function through strong people and process management
skills.
*
Generate credibility through clearly communicated and accurately implemented
processes and programs with a focus on customer service.
*
Serve as subject matter expert to the CHRO and the LECG management team.
*
Review policies and programs for effectiveness; ensure they meet business goals
and propose new ideas and program changes, as appropriate. Ensure legal
requirements for pay and benefit programs are met.
*
Complete special projects, as assigned, including acquisition integration,
restructuring, etc.
Compensation
*
Manage and administer salary, merit, bonus and incentive programs for all
staff.
*
Present strategy, recommendations, and results to CHRO and Compensation
Committee
*
Manage Executive Compensation programs
*
Provide analysis and modeling of plan design, costs, and alternatives to
executive audiences
*
Accurately track and analyze all compensation data.*
*
Track and review bonus/salary recommendations for consistency; ensure
recommendations meet budget guidelines and are legally consistent.
*
Track and administer employee review process; make recommendations for
improvement, as appropriate.
*
Provide salary structure and pay policies that allow the organization to
maintain its competitive position.
*
Provide and maintain job descriptions; develop additional job descriptions, as
required.*
*
Perform job evaluations and analyses.
* Lead implementation of projects
related to compensation
*
Maintain awareness of current practices among competitors, regulatory trends,
and business trends.
Benefits
*
Review benefit plans and make recommendations for plan changes, additions, or
deletions. Ensure that existing plans are in compliance with Government
regulations and standards.
*
Research, recommend, implement, and manage organizational benefit strategies
clearly linked to organization and functional business objectives
* Negotiate effective benefits
management and administration and benefits contracts.
*
Develop communications strategy to educate employees about the value of
benefits, benefits changes, and needed actions.
*
Implement Wellness Program in alignment with the LECG CARES program
Minimum Education, Work Experience and Other Requirements
Education/Certification(s):
*
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business or related field.
*
SPHR/PHR preferred
*
CCP/CBP/CEBS certifications preferred
Work Experience:
*
Minimum 10 years relevant work experience specializing in compensation,
rewards, benefits and HRMS.Public Company experience strongly preferred.
Professional Services firm experience a plus.
*
International experience - assisting offices outside the US with compensation
issues
*
Minimum 5 years experience managing complex compensation programs.
*
Minimum 5 years experience with benefit plan design and related costs.
