Job Description
Who we are
At Roche, 80,000 people across 150 countries are pushing back the
frontiers of healthcare. Working together, we’ve become one of the
world’s leading research-focused healthcare groups. Our success is
built on innovation, curiosity and diversity, and on seeing each
other’s differences as an advantage. To innovate healthcare, Roche has
ambitious plans to keep learning and growing – and is seeking people
who have the same goals for themselves.
The headquarters in Basel is one of Roche’s largest sites. It is home
to the Corporate Executive Committee, the Pharmaceuticals and
Diagnostics Divisions and the global business functions. Roche Basel
also covers the entire business chain from research, development and
production through to marketing. Over 8,000 people from more than 60
countries work at the site.
The Position
Following a project to realign HR across the organisation, you will be
one of the key players who will strengthen the current Compensation and
Performance Management team. This team will effectively link pay to
performance and objectively evaluates employee performance on a
consistent basis against pre-established standards and measures. Your
tasks will include:
• Drive and execution of defined key global projects in compensation and performance management
•
Coordination with affiliates in the region to understand performance
management and compensation plans and processes (e.g. local pay
structures, bonus plans, Long Term Incentive needs, remuneration policy
alignment, benchmarking practices and needs, performance management
practice) and how these align to groupwide principles
•
Data analysis and action planning advice to affiliates in the region
•
Governance role over plan or process changes in the region
• Advice to affiliates in the region to ensure implementation of global processes and changes
As a Compensation and Performance Manager, you will report to the Group
Head of Compensation & Performance Management who in turn reports
to the Head of HR (and Member of the Executive Committee).
Who you are
You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re
looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your
interests across functions and geographies, and where a job title is
not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting
point.
You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Human Resources, law or other
position related disciplines. You have substantial, hands-on experience
in compensation/performance management. Ideally, you also have
experience in designing and operating management processes and know how
these feed into other processes like development planning or
compensation. You have spent several years in an HR function and have
built salary structures or worked with job evaluation tools.
Headquarters' experience would be an asset. We are looking for a strong
communicator and strategic thinker, who is able to analyse information,
identify the issues and propose constructive solutions. You are result
oriented and you are capable to handle uncertainty. Fluency in English
is mandatory, German language skills would be an advantage. If you are
