Equity Compensation Tax Analyst

SUMMARY:
Citi's Equity Compensation Unit is part of the Corporate Human
Resources Department with responsibility for administration of employee
equity award and deferred compensation programs, including stock
awards, stock options and employee stock purchase programs, in
approximately 90 countries.

Directly reporting to the Manager
level in the Equity Compensation Unit with strong interface and
collaborative relationship with Global Mobility/Expatriate Unit (GMU),
Equity Compensation Program Managers and Corporate Tax and Finance, the
successful candidate will have strong analytic and project management
skills with a solid grounding in principles of income and social
security taxation as applied to cross-border employee transfers.

Roles and Responsibilities

·Provide
accurate and timely tax withholding rates on equity transactions to
respective program teams, including using Ernst &Young (E&Y)
provided documentation to determine multi-jurisdictional allocations
where employees have transferred during the life of an award.
Compliance with tax withholding reporting requirements globally.

·Monitor compliance with Corporate Accounting, Tax and Internal Audit requirements. Coordinate with Program Managers.

·Project
manage the collection and organization of information from various
sources in order to provide a complete file of tax rates for stock
award vestings that can be uploaded into the Equity Compensation System.

·Analyze and report on data related to tax withholding on equity activity. Determine trends, establish procedures.

·Determine
and implement, working with E&Y where necessary, administrative
procedures in response to Corporate Tax chargeback decisions, including
pro-rata allocations of taxable equity income based on work location
country and financial reporting of compensation expense.

·Serve
as resource to ECU colleagues in the performance of their various roles
involving Plan participants outside the U.S. Consult with Corporate Tax
and E&Y to provide specific advice concerning tax withholding for
Internationally Mobile/Expatriate Employees.

·Assist Corporate
Tax and Corporate Legal in all aspects of annual Due Diligence for
Equity Programs, including interface with outside advisors, review/
critique of deliverables and implementing results.

·Support
Corporate Tax, Corporate Legal and outside advisors to review,
critique, produce, edit and distribute country-specific Prospectus
Supplements for all of the Global Equity Programs.

·Work with the Reporting team to ensure accurate reporting of equity related income and taxes to global payrolls.

·Work with Finance and program teams to reconcile General Ledger accounts relating to equity compensation transactions.

·Assist
with design, documentation and implementation of the tax withholding
and reporting processes in the as part of redesign of the Equity
Compensation System.

·Assist Global Equity Steering Team in special projects as they arise.

·5
years of experience in Public Accounting Firm, a Corporate Tax function
dealing with personal taxation or an Expatriate Tax function

·Bachelors degree required, masters degree a plus

·Knowledge
of income and social security taxation as applied to cross-border
employee transfers. (Specific knowledge of tax issues impacting Equity
Compensation would be a plus.)

·Desire to integrate tax knowledge into broader HR context

·Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Power Point and Word

·Project management and analytical skills

·Strong organizational and time management skills

·Excellent interpersonal skills - communication and decision making skills imperative

·Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

·Strong verbal and written communications skills

·Ability to work successfully in a team based environment.
