Position Description:

The Corporate Client Group (CCG) is dedicated to providing Morgan
Stanley Smith Barney corporate clients with world-class, tailored
products and services. From our market leading equity compensation
services for our stock option, restricted stock, and employee stock
purchase programs to our executive advisory services, we use the power
of MSSB to provide our corporate clients with the resources they need.


As a result of Financial Accounting Standards Board Statement 123R
(FAS123R), governing the expensing and disclosures of stock-based
compensation, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has established a department
to assist our corporate clients with their FASB guidelines compliance.
The FAS123R department consists of an accounting and data team.


Overview of Role:

Manage client reporting relationships, which include but are not limited to:


  • Interact with mid/senior level contacts (Controller,
    Finance VP, CFO, etc) at corporate clients to identify stock-based
    compensation reporting needs and convey those needs to the internal
    organization.


  • Implement clients on the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney FAS123R reporting system.


  • Coordinate process and data flows between corporate clients, valuation service providers and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.


  • Review reports and respond to client inquiries to assist clients in fulfilling their FAS123R reporting requirements.


  • Provide client education related to FAS 123R and maintain ongoing client communications.


  • Aid in development and documentation of key procedures and controls related to FAS 123R reporting.


  • Participate in process improvement initiatives.


    Skills Required:

    Main Competencies:


    Business Knowledge:

    1. Solid understanding of accounting flows.

    2. In-Depth knowledge of FAS123R guidelines and reporting requirements is a plus.

    Analytical Skills: Well-developed problem solving skills necessary
    to identify multiple solutions for issues/problems related to clients
    accounting and reports. Ability to identify trends.

    Project Management: Excellent time management skills, ability to
    manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines and attention to details.

    Client Focus: Ability to deliver exceptional client service and
    maintain solid working relationships with clients in a dynamic
    environment.

    Communication: Excellent oral/written communication and
    presentation skills. Ability to communicate with senior level
    professionals at corporate clients.

    Technical: Strong computing skills (MS Office). IT proficient and a quick learner of new applications and tools.


    Skills Desired:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance related field preferred. CPA or MBA a plus.


  • 4 - 8 years of work experience required.


  • Exposure to financial reporting and monthly closes a plus.


  • Experience with equity plan administration and services a plus.
