The Director of
Compensation
will be responsible for the overall direction of the
planning, development and administration of Ryder's which includes the
installation and maintenance of competitive and equitable compensation
for domestic employees in accordance with Company compensation and benefits
policies.

· 
Bachelor's Degree required

· 
Experience in a large company environment with the development of pay
for performance variable compensation for various employee groups


· 
Experience in survey completion and analysis to guide grade structure
movement, merit increase recommendations, location differentials


· 
A minimum of 5 years of experience using query function for data transfer
from "main" data system such as Peoplesoft, SAP, Lawson to
Excel for group compensation analysis.


· 
Experience managing a staff

- MBA preferred 

- Familiarity with administration of executive compensation programs. 

- Cognizant of relevant federal, state, & local compensation regulations
including OFCCP which impact compensation calculations, program design,
and payroll administration. 

- Demonstrated capability in the development of project plans and timelines. 

- Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations to a wide variety
of employee and management audiences for purposes of explaining compensation
programs. 

- Demonstrated ability to create effective written employee communications
relating to compensation programs, policies and procedures. 

- Ability to effectively convert tabular data to graphics

· 
Provides for the review and communication of compensation policies and
procedures..

· 
Counsel and advise managers in all aspects of hourly and salary compensation
matters.


· 
Establishes job specifications and salary grades and initiates an organized
system for their periodic review. Recommends changes to structure movement,
merit pay budgets based upon analysis of external survey data.


· 
Through subordinate personnel manages the development and works with
line management to modify incentive or bonus plans for application in
particular segments or particular organization levels of the company.


· 
Reviews job evaluation process to ensure that the company is complying
with various federal, state, local and OFCCP regulations pertaining
to compensation matters such as FLSA, Equal Pay.


· 
Supervises and coordinates the merit and performance appraisal programs.


· 
Develops appropriate compensation reports and analyses to keep management
aware of overall salary levels and costs.


· 
Conducts research on compensation plans used in other companies, and
makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of existing company
programs.


· 
Develop and present compensation information to human resources, management
and employee groups.


· 
Manage department staff to assist with analysis, administration and
communication requirements.


· 
Evaluates management location change assignments and recommends COLA
adjustments where warranted.


· 
Analytical support for international assignment compensation packages.
