Compensation & Benefits Controller - New York
Premier Westchester Consumer Products leader seeks an exceptional
individual to join their Compensation and Benefits team. You will be
responsible for providing financial control and accounting expertise
for all Company Compensation & Benefit plans. This role ensures
compliance with legal, regulatory, accounting and audit standards and
also ensures internal records and external disclosures pertaining to
the firm’s Compensation & Benefit programs are accurate, compliant
and timely. You will work very closely with the Financial Reporting,
Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit and Legal departments.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Financial control and reporting
• Monitor and enhance financial controls for compensation and benefits programs
• Coordinate with Financial Reporting and Legal on regulatory filings and disclosures
• Audit planning and coordination
• Plan and coordinate the annual calendar of Benefit program audits
• Function as point person for regulatory and compliance audits with IRS and DOL
• Prepare financial statements, reconcile trustee/recordkeeping reports
• Provide guidance to Benefit managers in preparation of audit responses and action plans
• Budget planning, oversight and reporting
• Work with Planning team on Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan
• Monitor vendor payments against budgets
• Ensure all compensation & benefit plans comply with IRS, DOL, SEC, SOX, 409A
• Provide subject matter expertise and support on all accounting related items for broad HR team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
• MBA preferred
• 5 to 7 years of accounting or audit experience with large public company or accounting firm in a Management capacity
• Compensation/Benefit Audit and/or financial statement preparation experience
