The compensation department plays a critical role in aligning the
company’s human resources to its strategic goals. Key projects for the
coming year include researching and designing equity programs that
promote shareholder value creation and have retention value to our
employees. The job is heavy on equity administration (probably 60-75%
of the job). Additionally, it offers the opportunity to work on the
other compensation programs and projects. In 2009 we expect the
incumbent to lead in automating the Annual Equity Process, participate
design of the company’s equity programs and participate in projects
related to broad-based compensation programs and processes. This
position may interface with the most senior levels in the organization.



This Sr. Equity Compensation Analyst will primarily be responsible for
complex analysis, design and administration of CME Group equity
programs, policies, and practices. Additionally, the Sr. Equity
Compensation Analyst will assist in analysis, design and administration
of broad-based compensation programs in alignment with the company’s
compensation philosophy. Responsibilites include: • Administer the
day-to-day processes and transactions related to the company’s stock
plans. This includes: • Managing the equity grant planning processes,
recordkeeping and communication for all equity vehicles (currently
stock options, restricted shares and outright stock are in use) •
Processing ESPP enrollment and purchases and maintaining associated
recordkeeping • Managing information in the stock plan administration
database to ensure data integrity • Coordinating the payment of
withholding taxes related to restricted stock vesting • Maintaining
calculation of outstanding shares under each of the plans • Assisting
with equity program budget preparation and administration • Ensuring
overall compliance and effective administration of stock plans •
Creating and delivering employee education and communication and
resolving employee questions • Manage flow of information to and
relationships with the internal cross-functional stock plan
administration team and the third party administrator. • Prepare and
provide regular and ad-hoc complex analyses to senior management. •
Resolve inquiries from managers, employees, vendors, brokers, lawyers
and others. • Prepare materials for senior management and Compensation
Committee meetings. • Assist with design recommendations for changes to
equity and other compensation programs. Provide necessary data to
support external reporting requirements for the proxy statement and
other public filings. • Assists with other compensation processes and
projects (such as market pricings, ad-hoc studies, annual compensation
and promotion processes) as assigned.


 

















Requirements

Required: • BS/BA degree required; Human Resources, Finance or Business
Administration preferred • Minimum 4 years of experience in
compensation and/or stock plan administration • Strong knowledge of
stock plan administration, tax and regulatory requirements •
Understanding of SEC, FASB and IRS rules relating to stock plans
Demonstrated ability to understand and administer complex plans •
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills •
Excellent attention to detail; ability to problem-solve and initiate
action • Strong Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and other database
skills • Experience with Equity Edge or other stock plan administration
software, Peoplesoft and other compensation tools • Strong oral and
written communications skills • Ability to interface with all levels of
employees within the organization • Must be able to work effectively in
a cross-functional team environment • Ability to work independently on
projects with minimal supervision


Preferred: • Experience with international stock plan administration
preferred • CEP, CCP or other related certification desired • Masters
degree desired
