· United Kingdom - A summary of key changes to incentive plans for listed companies for 2016/17

The HMRC recently released several changes that will impact the operation of share plans in the UK. Briefly, there were five changes: updated UK share plan reporting templates and requirements, confirmation that securities option legislation can apply to RSU's qualifying as "securities options", the discontinuation of NIC Employer's Class 1 election related to incentive plans, a change in the rules related to the taxation of dividends, and a reduced UK capital gains tax rate for individuals disposing of assets.
