Company stock prices over the past decade bode well for recipients of employee stock options

The stock market has been up and down a lot since the beginning of 2016, but in general the S&P index is near its all time high. Consequently, most employee stock options granted in the last ten years are likely to be "In-the-Money" (current stock price above the grant price) as illustrated by the following chart.
