Just wondering if anyone can recommend good FAS 123R experts.
I am looking for people who understand the expensing and amortization side of the issues rather than valuation.
I have a good list of valuation experts (althought you can feel free to add those that you know).

Dan,
Feel free to add me to your list - I have significant expertise in this area.
Thanks,

This is my area of expertise. I've written any number of expense algorithms that compute expense for employee stock options. I built all the algorithms that Equity Methods uses today for expense, EPS dilution, and deferred tax accounting. I have provided guidance to a couple of smaller firms regarding their expense algorithms, and I am currently working with a very large software provider to help improve the accounting in its software platform.
I have clients in this area ranging anywhere from around 30 participants up to 50K + participants. I am often brought in to reconcile expense between two accounting systems (or a homegrown system and a new service provider's system) during system conversions/implementations or as an expert to analyze what a company has done after special situations, such as modifications.
I got my start in the industry doing valuation work, so I am able to provide help and guidance from the beginning of the valuation process, all the way through to quarterly financial reporting; however, I focus primarily on the accounting side of things.

Hi Dan,
My firm (FAS123 Solutions) has significant expertise in this area. We've worked with all of the big four on various projects - everything from service period and modification issues through a full-scale recalculation and reconciliation of 123R expense and diluted stock calculations for some large public companies with significant backdating issues.

Over the last two years, Stock & Option Solutions has worked with a number of restatement clients to bridge the gap between a company’s valuation experts and their equity administration systems. As a result of these continuing engagements, we’ve also built tried-and-tested models for amortization, forfeiture rates, and to handle the DTA/APIC calculations. We’ve continued to bring dedicated FAS123R expertise on board, and are finding ongoing interest in these services on a stand-alone basis, especially as companies look to understand and adjust for the effect of changes in their assumptions both on the accounting and system side of their expensing equation. I am free to discuss whenever you’d like. My number is 408-979-8715.
