Why Some Skypers Are Seeing Red

I love when I see these types draconian provisions in grant agreements or plans. When I bring them up (to friends w/them in their company's plans or to clients with them) and ask if they're concerned, I get the "hum, I don't know?" looks.

clearly not worth the bad press
Saw this recent article that posts a link to the actual powerpoint presentation used to educate employees. Seems fairly clear (see slide 8) that Skype communicated the provision that people who resigned or fired would only get their exercise price back.

Based on this I can't fault the people who communicated the plan. I can still question the design of the plan, although it can work well in certain circumstances. I can also reiterate the fact that these are complex tools and optionees need to get professional reviews of their documents before they assume and understanding of them.
It appears to come down to whether the current round of involuntary terminations were done in good faith and with real "cause"...
