Health insurance CEO paid $106 million. Feel better? - St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Take a look at this article. The CEO is quoted as saying that he does not believe that American's are getting their money's worth for the the $2.3 Trillion we spend on health care. He then got paid $106 Million in 2009 ($98 Million from stock options).
First, $106 Million is a tiny percentage of $2.3 Trillion.
Second, Most Americans cannot, or will not, do the math to determine how tinay a percentage it is. ($106 Million is 0.00461% of the total cost of US health care. We would need to have 217 CEO paid this mucch annually to equal just1% of the total cost)
Third, regardless of the numbers above, $106 is a heck of a lot of money. For most people this amount is pretty similar to 2.3 Trillion, since neither number has any basis in reality in their lives.
Fourth, perhaps CEOs who get paid HUGE amounts of money should just keep their mouths shut on the topics of compensation, costs of their industry etc. Maybe they should focus their talking points only on what their shareholders and employees NEED to hear.
Just sayin'....
