David Erdal Director, Baxi Partnership Ltd (United Kingdom)
Keynote speaker David Erdal has been involved with employee ownership in
Scotland and around the world since 1984. Under his leadership, the
Tullis Russell Group made pioneering use of UK employee share ownership
legislation. He is the author of Local Heroes, a Penguin paperback
telling the story of an iconic entrepreneurial company and its employee
buyout, and he has consulted on employee ownership in Asia, Africa, and
Europe. He is currently a director at Baxi Partnership, which finances
and supports employee ownership transactions. He is also working on
a new book arguing the case for employee ownership.

is an annual award recognizing creative ideas that help make employee
ownership stronger, and publicizing those ideas so others can learn
from them. Innovations can deal with employee participation,
entrepreneurship, communication programs, education, plan design, or
