Catching up with Dan Walter and the ECE

Hi everyone,

First of all, I would like to thank all of you who have helped the ECE thrive in my extended absence.  Nine-weeks is a long time and it is great to know that this on-line community works without me.

Second, many of you may have know that my wife and I were gone in expectation of adopting twin infants.  The babies were born in early December, but the birth-mother has sadly decided not to have us adopt.  We have a great friends and family who have supported us during the process and we are planning on a great 2010. Our thoughts remain on the health and happiness of the children.

Third, ShareComp 2010, opened for registrations in December. A few partners and I have created this event as a low-cost, hi-impact opportunity for anyone that touches equity and share plans. Lastly, 2009 was a wild year and it looks like 2010 will be even crazier.  Search through the articles and discussion on the ECE for updates on proxy rules, Potential changes to executive compensation, scandals that grew and scandals that died.  Most of all use the site to connect to each other so we can build a stronger industry for the next decade and beyond.
