Jabil Circuit says options lawsuit dismissed

Jabil Circuit Inc.
said Tuesday that a federal court dismissed a class-action lawsuit that
alleged officers of the electronics parts maker improperly backdated
stock options to enrich themselves.


The U.S. District Court for
the Middle District of Florida dismissed the complaint on Monday in an
order that "precludes the plaintiffs from filing a fourth amended
complaint," St. Petersburg-based Jabil said in a statement.


The plaintiffs may appeal the dismissal within 30 days.


The
case consolidated several complaints filed in recent years against
Jabil, the accounting firm KPMG LLP and Jabil's directors and certain
current and former company officers.


Jabil investigated its
stock-option grant practices and said it did not find any merit to
claims that company officers issued themselves backdated stock options
or tried to get others to do so...
